My Heart Is Blue

Not really! It's just the name of this new necklace. It's just a smaller version of the Little Red Heart necklace, but this one is all 14g sterling silver. I love it! It's super shiny, and very pretty.

I had a pretty busy weekend. I had to make a copper cuff bracelet and matching ring and earrings for a customer. She also bought my first set stone necklace! I like busy weekends!

Good news on the starter situation, it was a wire and not the starter. The ignition wire that goes to the starter had touched the exhaust and melted the plastic, so it was shorting out. All it needed was a little tape! Saved my $42! YAY! Other good news of the day. I gave the puppy away! Actually, my oldest son did it, but he's gone to a new home. Joe's best friend's 5 year old nephew had a puppy and it died, so he gave him our stray. I'm so glad!

A bit of sad news though, kind of. The dog that I had spayed has disappeared. I should have known that it would happen as soon as I spent money on her. We can't find her, so we have no idea what happened. We have some bad neighbors that may have shot her, or she could have gotten run over, but I didn't see her anywhere. I guess I'll never know, but it's just that way sometimes.

I hope you all had a good weekend and have a great week~

Another Hardware Store Find

I was in the hardware store the other day, buy copper pipe for the Love Never Fails bracelet and I found some really neat copper-plated iron pipe hanger. It comes in a big roll and it has holes in it. I cut it 2 pieces to length and added a strip of textured brass between them. I just riveted it together on each end with copper wire rivets. I really like how it looks. It has a really pretty sheen to it. I love the hardware store!

I hope everybody is having a great week. Mine's not going so hot right now. I think I'm going to have to put a new starter on my truck. Argh!!!!! Oh well, that's life I guess.~

Night and Day

Here's the sterling silver earrings I was talking about. I really like them. I was inspired by the work of Stacie Florer at Nomadic Creations. She makes gorgeous earrings! The discs are 3/4" wide, lightly domed, and they hang about 2". I textured one side of each with my riveting hammer and made a little"sun" on the other, so I call them Night and Day. They're kinda Yin/Yang-ish. The stones are sodalite, which I love. They are the color of old blue jeans, which I also love! That's all I wear!

I'm working on a new cuff bracelet that I thinks going be pretty good. It's another hardware store find! I do love the hardware store!~

Love Never Fails

I was asked to make this by a customer at Etsy. She bought one of my Iron Man bracelets for her husband for Father's Day and she wanted this for herself. She liked the Live, Laugh, Love bangle but wanted thicker copper with Love Never Fails on it. I bought copper pipe and split it open for the base. It it very thick and took forever to saw the base piece. But I really like the way it looked finished. I'll have to make a few more thick ones!

I made a pair of sterling silver dangle earrings today, but I didn't get pics yet, so I'll show them next time.
I hope you all had a fun and safe weekend. I did!~

Earrings...

Lately I've been hung up on earrings! I tend to do that. I'll start making something and then that's all I make! I made these little copper wire hearts and wrapped them with sterling silver. Then I made the necklace to match. They're very simple, but cute.
These are a domed brass disc with garnet dangles and sterling earwires.
Then, these are sodalite with a vintage copper bead and a domed copper disc. The wire wrapping and earwires are sterling.
Last, these are garnet with a vintage copper bead and copper disc. Again with the sterling. They are all simple, but could be dressy or casual. I've even started wearing them some!

I hope everybody is having a fun and creative week! I am!

I finally set a stone

I've been wanting to try setting a cab, and I finally did it! It probably would have been easier with sterling silver instead of nickle silver, but that's what I had! It turned out okay, though I like the bail better than the rest of it. Oh well, it's a learning experience!

I haven't been blogging much cause there's been a lot going on. My husband is home, and he doesn't like for me to do anything on the computer. Also, I had a huge lump come up, and I had to go have a mammogram. That SUCKED! Thankfully, it's just a cyst, and not anything serious. I was a little worried though!
I hope you all are having a great week and great fun!

I've been busy...

I haven't been keeping up with blogging like I should, but I had a great week with Etsy! I sold something every day, sometimes more than one sale a day. I think a lot of it was for Father's Day, because I sold more men's bracelets than anything! I also sold both new pairs of earrings and some older ones I had. I wish every week could be so good. Most days, I made several pieces, so this time I'll have made more than 14 things when hubby comes home!

These are a couple more pairs of earrings I made this weekend. the first ones are hammered copper washers with a green freshwater pearl dangle, and the second are 2&1/2" long sterling silver drops with Labradorite and silver beads. I'm working on some new ones right now, and I think they are going to be really cute. I'll show you those next time.

I hope you all had a great weekend and have an even better week~

New Earrings

I don't make earrings very much. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I almost never wear them!

Janice, at J.A.N., made a couple pairs for her mom, and that got me thinking. Sooo, I had some 16g copper wire left over from a braided bracelet, and the shapes were pretty cool just laying there. I made a loop on one end, and trimmed them at different lengths. I then hung them from a sterling silver jumpring and handmade sterling earwires. I LOVE them. I wore these all day yesterday, and I forgot they were there! They are so me!

The next pair is simple copper washers from the hardware store. I hammered them with the ball pein, and attached them with sterling jumprings. I also made these earwires of silver. They are not my style, but I like them. The hammering made them super shiny, and they would be a great face framer. I don't like my face framed, though! LOL

I hope you all had a super weekend. Mine was pretty good in the selling department! And I'm making jewelry again, so it's all good!~
