WOW

I'm really falling behind with my blog!

My hubby has been home since June 13th and I can't seem to find time for everything.

I've been working in the shop everyday, but it's mostly orders. I made a few new simple necklaces, but that's it! Right now I'm working on a huge order of earwires, which is not something I normally do. For one thing, I hate making them, and it takes a WHILE to make 100 of them!

I did make this bracelet as a special request. It says There, But For The Grace Of God...which has always been a favorite phrase of mine. I think I'll make one of these for me!

I'm not going to bore you all with necklaces, but I will show you a new bug. I don't have a problem finding those!

This one is a Reddish Brown Stag Beetle that landed on my shirt one night while I was eating a salad. He was so heavy, I knew it was something big! This guy was about an inch and a half long and over a half inch wide! Scary but harmless.

Lucanus capreolus
Reddish-Brown Stag Beetle

When confronted by people, the male beetles may rear back their heads and open their mandibles, but actually these pincers are capable of little more than a very mild nip to a human.

Male Reddish-Brown Stag Beetles fight with other males of their species over females.

These adult beetles are nocturnal and feed on tree sap. They are also attracted to lights. The larvae feed on the decaying wood of tree stumps and fallen logs.

Beautiful bracelet, ugly bug...sorry, I hate bugs although I must admit some of them are quite striking. I do like walking sticks and lizards. I saw a lizard yesterday that had neon blue tail. I wish he/she would have sat still long enough for a picture.

Now that bug is ugly!
I would of had a fit if he landed on me! haha...

I never remember to bring my camera when I leave for ~W~ anymore...today I saw a gorgeous little fox trying to cross the road. I see deer & turkey all the time; once a black bear, and moose here and there ~ the last moose met me at the bottom of a hill...I was looking UP at him sitting in my low to the ground car. He could have walked right over my car! But he ran into the woods instead, lol.

The cuff is very nice!

Ok, these bugs are really starting to creep me out...that's a nasty one I would NEVER want to run into!!!

As for your jewelry...I always love the copper and silver combo. Very nice!

Figured your hubby was back home and that's why we weren't hearing from you too much.

The cuff is really awesome!! Your husband is back so I understand that you have more important "things" going on. Teehee. I've seen those big ole bugs, but didn't know their name. They're really scary looking. Give your hubbie a big ole hug & don't worry about us..we'll be here when you come back.

Lovely cuff and funky cool beetle!

Its good you are busy with orders though - even if they are a bit dull.

I am with you...I don't find making earwires too much fun...but I love the cuff too...and I have seen those bugs before..they look ferocious, don't they? Thank you for the nice complement about my mixed metal jewelry...I love mixing it up!

I figured your hubby was home, that's why we weren't seeing new pieces. I just *love* your bracelet & the quote. The bug.....not so much. (shudder) ;-)
