Graduation

My baby graduated from high school tonight!

I have mixed feelings about it. I'm happy for him, but sad at the same time.

They had a ceremony on the last day of school, where they had a kind of funeral
to signify burying their childhood.

My son was depressed about graduation for a couple of days. It's a big step on the road of life!

Now the really hard stuff starts, like college, then work, and the everyday drudgery that goes along with it.

I guess I'm just not ready to give up my baby just yet!

Say a little prayer for him and all of the other graduates everywhere tonight, that they all get home safely from their festivities.

Oh, BTW, he thinks he was switched at birth because he doesn't look like me or his Dad! LOL He does have my hands and my build, and my hair. He looks more like my brother than like me.

Congratulations!!! Hope he has a safe and fun celebration. My second son is identical to my brother and doesn't look much like his other brothers. Gotta love genetics!!!

Tammy - have you cut your hair or are you just wearing it up in this photo?

Nah!!!! - you can tell he's your son, I reckon you have similar facial features.

How scarey though - I kind of understand how you feel. Thank goodness my 'babies' are only 1 and 4 and so that point in my life (and theirs) is WAY off in the future.

Apparently though (according to my mum) your son will visit frequently to raid your fridge of all its contents. My brother still does this and he's in his 30s!

Take care. V x

Congratulations to you and to your son, Tammy! As for switched --nah, sometimes resemblances are more in mannerisms and the like. My brother and I don't look alike but we have the same kinds of mannerisms and body language. This despite growing up years apart from each other while I was in college, so I think part of that might be genetic!

Congrats!

Sorry to hear how your son was feeling about graduatiing. It is a bummer...it's the close of a chapter in ones life.

I hope they all had a great time and everyone came home safe and sound. :)

Thanks Barrie!
When he was little he looked more like his Dad's baby pictures, but he has grown into his own unique person! My oldest son is identical to his Dad.

Vicky, you'll be worry about graduation before you know it! It seems like just a couple of years ago that mine was in kindergaten, and now he's going off to college!
I didn't cut my hair. It's just pulled back in a low ponytail. It was so hot, we nearly melted! My hair is naturally curly and will frizz up in hot humid weather! I HATE it!
My oldest son lives next door, and is over here everyday. Sometimes I feel like my house is the grocery store! LOL

Thank you, Shuku! He does act like me, and he's an artist, too.

Thanks Candice! They got home at 6 this morning! I had a long, bad night. But all they did was go to Monroe to IHOP, and then went shopping at 2 different WalMarts! LOL He's not a partier, thank goodness!

Hi Tammy!!

I can imagine how your feeling.. my oldest, a son is going to be a freshman and I'm struggling with it... But I'm sure you've done a great job raising him and he will be able to venture into the world and make it on his own... I was the type that I couldn't wait to get out of high school and start my life... now I look back and wonder why was I in such a rush..

thanks for all your info on my blog. I will most likely be asking more questions....

hope your day is good!
